Absently Minding

Joy and sorrow, pleasure and pain

They trickle down your face the same

Keeps my mind in check

A silhouette

I’m fading, fading,

I’m fading again.

Sprinting to the end of my words,

(Worlds)

The ghost of you,

An empty room.

Helloooo I’m alive

      1. (Liam btw) When I read this, I can’t help but think of the powerful relationships pleasure and pain, joy and sorrow. You can’t have one without the other. As for why this one resonated with me,(and I know everyone gets something different from when they read poems) the tone and imagery it conveys in my mind reminds me of losing someone.

      2. (Oh hello!) thanks for sharing! Yeah those ideas/feelings definitely go hand in hand.

I love that poetry can invoke different feelings in different people, and honestly I think any interpretation of a poem is valid since everyone experiences life through different filters.
